NATUROPATHIC Medicine

Naturopathy is a unique branch of medicine that incorporates modern scientific knowledge with traditional and natural remedies to treat illness and disease.  It views the body as whole and interconnected as opposed to isolated systems, and as such looks to identify the root cause of illness in order to restore overall wellness.

Naturopathic Doctors take the time to listen and understand the whole picture by examining your patterns, symptoms, lifestyle habits, health history, physical exam and lab testing to interpret what is impacting health.  Treatment plans are tailored for each individual patient and can include therapies such as:

  • Clinical nutrition

  • Herbal medicine

  • Acupuncture & Cosmetic Acupuncture

  • Lifestyle advice

  • Homeopathy

  • Physical medicine

  • Intravenous (IV) Therapy

TRAINING

The education of a Naturopathic doctor is extensive and includes a minimum of eight years of post-secondary education in clinical and medical sciences, Naturopathic therapies, and 1500 hours of clinical internship. The four year medical program integrates standard medical examination techniques, differential diagnosis and pathology, with Naturopathic systems such as botanical medicine, Chinese medicine/acupuncture, and nutrition.  Naturopathic doctors have training in pathology, diagnosis, physical exam, and laboratory testing just like your family doctor.
